Debbie’s Log Cabin Quilt

Well, here it is!

The recipient (Debbie) picked the pattern/layout and size (queen) and her MIL told me what colors she generally likes (deep reds, golds, etc). I took that info and designed the blocks and final quilt on my own. Then I spent weeks and weeks collecting all kinds of reds and creams, as well as the gold marble-y fabric I used for the center squares. All told, there are sixty-four 10″ (finished) log cabin blocks, with a total finished quilt size of 90×90. I’m kinda proud of this one… almost hate to give it up.

  1. Wow, that’s gorgeous!! I can see why you’re proud. I’ve been thinking about learning how to quilt – the math of it kind of calls to me but the part about choosing coordinating fabric scares me. 🙂

  2. This is gorgeous! Don’t you just love the process of picking out the fabrics that will go together just right? So much fun. But you really made this one excellent!
